Choosing a cockatiel for a home in the Netherlands should begin with the bird’s health and preparation, not simply its color or appearance. I also encourage new owners to prepare the home before the bird arrives: have a secure cage, suitable perches, fresh water, an appropriate diet, and a quiet area ready for the first few days.
